The emphasis here is not on drastic changes to joint range of motion, pushing into pain thresholds, or forcing any rapid change in the breath or body — but on interoception, mindfulness gone into the body (kāyagatāsati, kāyānupassanā), and kinaesthetic awareness.

These practices were offered as a morning routine during an introductory calm and insight (śamatha-vipaśyanā) and mettā retreat at the International Buddhist Academy in Kathmandu, as part of the Complete Path Program 2026.

Video: An Online Talk on Loving Kindness

An online talk on loving kindness, given at the Metta Centre.

I am that part of the rainforest recently emerged into thinking.” — John Seed

Underlying all the symptoms of the environmental crisis is the illusion of separation between humans and the rest of the natural world. As Arne Naess, the initiator of the deep ecology movement, posits, ecological ideas won’t be enough to save us from our slide into oblivion. What we need instead is an ecological identity, an ecological self.
